Marcela & PJ’s Hacienda Wedding Weekend at Tekik de Regil, Yucatán

A 3-day destination wedding weekend at Hacienda Tekik de Regil, Mérida, Yucatán planned by S.O.S. Wedding Planners. See the full celebration inside.

Some couples want a single unforgettable day. Marcela & PJ wanted an entire weekend.

Surrounded by their closest family and friends, the couple chose Yucatán for their destination wedding — a region known for centuries-old haciendas, warm hospitality, and a kind of quiet magic that’s hard to find anywhere else. Their celebration unfolded over three days, beginning with a lively welcome party in Mérida and closing with a wedding day at the breathtaking Hacienda Tekik de Regil.

Here’s how it all came together.

A Welcome Party at Casa Palmar

The weekend kicked off on Thursday evening at Casa Palmar, where guests were welcomed with mezcalitas and a tacos and arepas station by Bravo Catering. A live band set the tone for the night with two energetic sets, while an ice cream cart service added a playful, unexpected touch guests are still talking about. Speeches, dancing, and warm Yucatán air, the perfect first chapter to a wedding weekend built entirely around connection.

Getting Ready at Hacienda Tekik de Regil

Wedding day started early, with the S.O.S. team arriving at the hacienda by 9am to prepare for a full day of celebration. Marcela’s hair and makeup began mid-morning with Yasser Raso, while her bridal party and both mothers had their own glam moments throughout the afternoon with Dany Reyes. Getting-ready photography and videography captured every detail — the rings, the perfume, the dress, the quiet moments of anticipation before the ceremony.

Meanwhile, PJ and his groomsmen arrived at the hacienda in the early afternoon for their own getting-ready coverage, complete with beer, whiskey, and a few solo portraits before the couple’s first look.

A Symbolic Ceremony in the Hacienda’s Chapel

As golden hour approached, guests arrived to the sound of a live violinist and were welcomed with refreshing aguas frescas. Marcela and PJ exchanged vows in a symbolic ceremony inside the hacienda’s historic chapel — an intimate, emotional moment framed by cascading floral arrangements in white calla lilies, hydrangea, and delicate ikebana-style compositions designed to complement the chapel’s centuries-old architecture.

Cocktail Hour and Reception Details

Guests moved to the cocktail area for an hour of canapés — think tuna tartar, tetela mole, and coconut shrimp — paired with a curated mixology bar. The reception’s design carried the same romantic, organic floral language throughout: mirrored cube installations, calla lily centerpieces, and candlelit tablescapes that glowed as the sun went down over the main garden.

Dinner, Mariachi, and a Night to Remember

Dinner began with a choice of Yucatecan Caesar salad or coconut shrimp ceviche, followed by brisket terrine or pistachio-crusted salmon — all while a nine-piece mariachi serenaded the room with classics like Cielito Lindo and La Bamba. Heartfelt speeches from parents and close friends filled the space between courses, followed by coffee service and a cake-cutting moment that officially launched the party.

From there, the dance floor didn’t stop. A cheerleaders moment, an hour loca complete with a trumpet set, and a late-night snack of tortas de cochinita kept energy high until the very last song at 1:15am — closing out a wedding weekend that felt, from start to finish, entirely like them.
